Latitude 64 Festival 2k24: Recap

Latitude 64 Festival 2k24: Recap

This past weekend, nearly 400 players gathered in Pärnumaa for the Latitude 64 Festival 2k24. As usual, the entire week was filled with various side events on the courses in Pärnumaa, including weekly games, a PDGA event, and doubles competitions. The highlight of the week was the main competition of the Latitude 64 Festival.

While the more enthusiastic disc golfers started playing as early as Monday with various weekly games, the major kickoff for the event was on Friday with the doubles competition at the Jõulumäe Yellow course. We divided the pairs into two divisions to make the competition more balanced, and the winners were Oliver Saar and Martin Väster in the <1749 division, and Ronald Paju and Mihkel Põder in the 1750+ division.

On Saturday and Sunday, three rounds were played across five courses in six divisions, and the 2024 trophies went home with Mats-Eerik Tõhk, Eero Kaur, Oliver Saar, Mareks Vaičuls, Terje Sangernebo, and Kairit Laanepõld. For the sake of accuracy, it should be noted that the fourth group was awarded based on Saturday's results because their Sunday round in Valgeranna was canceled due to storm winds. You can see all the results on Disc Golf Metrix.

According to the event organizer, Silver Leetma, the Jõulumäe Sports and Recreation Center remains the best place for such an event: "Jõulumäe is a truly unique place in Estonia - several top-level disc golf courses, great relaxation opportunities, affordable accommodation, and friendly people, all in one place. What more could you ask for?" Leetma wants to thank all the players who come and enjoy the festival year after year. Additionally, he extends thanks to all the sponsors and supporters: Coolbet, Sportland, Adidas Terrex, Nick's, European Disc Golf Festival, Discgolf.ee, Tupla, Coca-Cola, Latitude 64, Dynamic Discs, Westside Discs, Jõulumäe Health Sports Center, and Murumängud. He also wants to thank the course managers - thanks to Sindi, Valgeranna, and Jõekääru for always welcoming the festival guests to your courses!

The next Latitude 64 Festival will be held on June 14-15, 2025, again in Pärnumaa. It is rumored that the rooms at Jõulumäe are already filling up quickly, so get your fingers moving and we'll see you next year!
