Finns for the win at the DGPT Elite Series - Copenhagen Open 2024

The first Disc Golf Pro Tour Elite Series event in Europe kicked off on Friday with the Copenhagen Open 2024. While Estonians Kaidi Allsalu and Mauri Villmann took the titles last year, this time the honors went to Finland, with Eveliina Salonen winning in the FPO division and Jesse Nieminen in the MPO division. Fun fact - it was Nieminen's first Elite Series victory & first PDGA victory outside of Finland!

Excitement continued until the final holes in both divisions, with the women's competition coming down to a playoff between the reigning champion, Kaidi Allsalu, who demonstrated strong and confident play over all three days, and Eveliina Salonen, who entered the podium battle after the second round. Although Eveliina claimed the victory this time, we believe that Kaidi Allsalu's unwavering performance made everyone's hearts beat faster!

At the top of the MPO division leaderboard, along with big names like Niklas Anttila and Paul Ulibarri, you'll find 16-year-old Estonian Roland Kõur, who fell just three throws short of the leader! Impressive!

Check out all the results here, and stay tuned for further updates from the Disc Golf Pro Tour Elite Series as the season progresses!
